WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN THE END COMES?
Do you have a relationship with God
that will carry you safely through eternity?

New Testament scripture quotations are from the 1941 translation published by
the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (Roman Catholic)

        "What will you do when the end comes?" This question was asked of the Israelites to whom the Oracles of the True and Living God had been committed, but who had drifted away from the pure truth unto manmade fables. "And," said the Eternal to them, "My people love to have it so, but what will you do when the  END comes?" (Jeremiah 5:31).

        In our own day, in spite of religious awakening, many feel their duty to God is ended when they 'go to church' or otherwise mechanically go through the ritual or fulfill the obligations of their particular religious denomination. To all such the Almighty says, "But what will you do when the end comes?"

        The Holy Scriptures tell us that God looks not at outward appearance, or at a 'put-on piety' but upon the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). But, regardless of your past or present religious experiences, have you ever asked yourself the question, "What will I do when the end comes?"

        Will you be numbered with those who will share the blessedness of eternity with a loving God, or with  those who will suffer eternal destruction?

        Many are trying to get to heaven by 'doing the best they can' and prefer to 'take their chances' in such eternal matters. To these sincere people 'good-works' are thought to be the door to salvation.

        Others go through the religious ceremony and rite of their religion in hopes that if they do this they will be right with God. To this group 'religious rites' are believed to be the door to heaven.

        Still others believe 'the church' is that door to eternal bliss, and many other common theories on 'how to get to heaven' might be advanced, but all these suppositions are, after all, only the opinions of men and are without solid foundation.

        No, the door to salvation and peace with God is not found in the vain reasoning of men, but that one true door which does exist is fully and plainly set before us in the Holy Bible, the Word of God. So let us discover what the Word of 'Truth actually says as to the way of life.

        In the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, declares,

"I am the door. If anyone enters BY ME he shall be safe. . ." (St. John 10:9).

        If we ever wish to come into divine blessing we must enter into it by the proper door, which God Himself has provided in the person of Christ. If we spurn this door we spurn the only means of obtaining everlasting life.

One door, and only one;
    And yet its sides are two.
Inside, and outside;
    On which side are you?

        If, perhaps, you might be trusting in a religious organization for salvation, be it known that the Word of God declares salvation to be in the Lord Jesus only.

"Neither is there salvation in ANY OTHER. For there is NO OTHER name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

        If you are trying, by one means or another, to come into God's favor, we exhort you to forsake your way and consider God's way, even the Lord Jesus Christ, who said to a doubter of old,

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father BUT THROUGH ME" (St. John 14:6).

        We can come to God through none other than Christ Himself.

"For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all, bearing witness in his own time" (I Timothy 2:5-6).

        The Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, calls you, dear friend, as he knocks at the door of your heart, saying,

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man listens to my voice and opens the door to me, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me" (Apocalypse 3:20).

        Salvation is not by reason of good works that we did ourselves" (Titus 3:5), nor is it through keeping the Ten Commandments (Galatians 2:16), but it is the free gift of God to all who will receive it.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT OF GOD is life everlasting IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD" (Romans 6:23).

        When a frightened jailor perceived the faith that was in the apostle Paul and Silas he questioned them,

"'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' And they said, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, and thy household' " (Acts 16:30-31).

        This same Saviour, the Lord Jesus, is available to you. Have you cast your all upon Him and trusted him fully for your eternal salvation?

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; he who is unbelieving towards the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him" (St. John 3:36).

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:31).

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that those who believe in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. For God did not send his Son into the world in order to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged; but he who does not believe is already judged, because he does not believe in the name of the only-begotten Son of God" (St. John 3:16-18).

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; he who is unbelieving towards the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him" (St. John 3:36).

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Hebrews 10:31).

        Dear friend, "What will you do when the end comes?"

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31).
